    The Role

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • A fantastic opportunity to develop hands-on skills and experience. Great company with fantastic development opportunities, ensuring I was out of my comfort zone almost every day.

    5/5

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued by your colleagues?
  • The support given to me by my colleagues has been tremendous. Everyone was helpful and happy to spend their time explaining new concepts to me, and ensuring I felt comfortable and confident with what was going on.

    5/5

  • 3. To what extent were you given support and guidance by management/your supervisor(s)?
  • Depends on individuals, however overall, I felt I was adequately supported.

    4/5

  • 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?
  • Almost always too busy, which was a positive thing. This really depends on how you approach it, if I felt the work was going dry, I would ask for more. I always had something to do.

    5/5

  • 5. How much responsibility were you given during your placement?
  • I was made responsible for running a global project, worth £1.5m with approx. 30 stakeholders on the project team. Definitely was given a lot of responsibility.

    5/5

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • Skills for life - I would not be where I am right now without the placement.

    5/5

    The Company

  • 7. What was the general atmosphere in your office?
  • Very friendly department, with very skilled and experienced individuals. Everyone was really helpful and supportive, ensuring I had sufficient levels of understanding of the departmental processes and operations. Outside of work, I cannot count how many nights out we had and how many cakes we have eaten because of birthdays, promotions, leaving etc. Very positive place!

    4/5

  • 8. How well organised was the overall work placement or internship set up?
  • Overall very well organised, however this depends on who you are dealing with. The processes are set up to ensure you have amazing time and do not miss out on anything, however people sometimes can be difficult with exceptional circumstances, due to the company's policies and overall bureaucracy.

    5/5

  • 9. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • I have been sent on 3 serious trainings, which enabled me to obtain qualifications recognisable in the industry. Each of them was worth more than £1,000, therefore I definitely felt valued.

    The Culture

  • 12. Was there a good social scene amongst any fellow placement students/colleagues?
  • Yes - we were out almost every other weekend, and the nights out were very diverse. We had sushi nights, barbecues, bowling and most recently... skydiving, but not everyone wanted to go to this one. Amazing team building spirit.

    5/5

  • 13. What was the cost of living and socialising in the area you worked in?
