The Role
I really enjoyed my overall experience at Rolls-Royce as I feel the internship help me develop and gain skills which I could not have gained elsewhere.
I thoroughly enjoyed working within the team I was placed. Everyone was extremely polite and always helpful. I feel that the people with which I worked, contributed greatly to how much I enjoyed my placement.
My supervisor was away on holiday for a few weeks during my 10 week placement however I think that this cannot always be helped and may be expected when taking on a summer internship. When my supervisor was available they were always helpful and gave support.
At the beginning of my placement I feel that team in which I was placed could have been a bit more prepared for my arrival as I wasn't given a lot of work within my first 2 weeks of 10. However, once I had been assigned my projects the work load was exactly right. I never felt like I didn't have enough to do but also never felt pressure from being given too much.
I feel that I was given a good amount of responsibility. I never felt like the work that I was completing was just to fill my time. The work that I completed was a big help to the team. I also never felt under pressure from feeling like I had been given too much responsibility.
The skills I developed will help me once I am back at university however I feel that what I have learned will be more useful in the future in further placements.
The Company
The atmosphere was always a fun yet productive one.
I feel that the my team could have been a little bit more organised on my arrival. I received my company pass on my first day however I was not granted access to areas on the network drive which were necessary and it took my supervisor and team a couple of weeks before I was assigned proper projects.
The company invested in me greatly considering I was only with them for 10 weeks. I attended a training course which the company paid for and I feel that I developed greatly while I was with the company.

I hope to return to Rolls-Royce for a further placement next year and I feel that, after receiving a good review on my placement, that there is a good chance I will be asked to return.
The Culture
There were a lot of other interns and many events organised for the interns.
The accommodation which I stayed in was extremely good value and the cost of socialising was reasonable.
I didn't have a lot of chance to experience the nightlife however, I did not enjoy the nights out which I did manage to go on as much as I would have liked.
A couple of opportunities arose for me to spend time with my team outside of work, both of which I enjoyed very much.
