The Role
I really enjoyed my rotational work placement within the Customer and Workforce Services. I would recommend it to any student wishing to pursue a career in Human Resources.
I feel valued as an colleague. Everybody in my department was very supportive though out my placement and tried to get me involved in all the day to day meetings. They tried to give me as much exposure as possible within the time I was there.
Each Senior HR adviser within the teams would ensure I had enough work to do for the time I spent with them and would let me shadow meetings with them to understand how the services are run within the organisation.
I was quite busy I can enough work to keep me going. If I had finished the tasks I felt confident that I could ask for more work.
I was given enough responsibility of the amount of work I was given. I would have one to one meetings once I had finished the work to understand any improvements I could make in the future and what I could have done better.
I was given plenty of training and support throughout my placement and any materials needed for work assignments for the future.
The Company
The office atmosphere was very lively. Everybody was approachable.
The placement had a good structure. I was involved in most of the meets where I got to shadow a lot of HR professionals.
The company helped and support me in any areas which I wanted to gain a good insight of. I was never afraid to for help. I was given a lot of paper work and materials which would help me throughout university in my final year.
