The Role
My project was very interesting and challenging. I learnt about new areas of study and discovered new aspects of my degree. Making progress everyday gave a huge satisfaction! I also got a chance to meet new people and socialise.
My colleagues always willingly listened to my comments and appreciated my work. I got lots of help, not only from my manager, but also other members of my team. I gained much experience from my older colleagues.
I had daily meetings with my supervisor which gave me opportunity to ask questions and discuss my work. The level of support was very well balanced, I could work independently, but also ask for help if it was necessary.
I was very busy, I never found myself in a position where I did not know what to do next. As I wanted to make a constant progress with my project, I had to spend time learning theory and applying it in practice.
I worked on a project that had a real value to the team, but I was not pushed too much by any deadlines. This meant that my work was important, but any product would not have been delayed because of me.
I applied knowledge learnt at the university, but also went far beyond that, and learnt more advanced concepts and developed skills. I think that gained experience will help me choose a more valuable path in my academic career.
The Company
Atmosphere was very relaxed as well as highly professional. The team welcomed me very well and was always happy to help. I felt very relaxed as a member of my team, there was no unnecessary stress involved.
My tasks were clearly explained, my work environment was perfectly set up from my first day. I did not experience any organisation issues. Inevery moment of time I knew what I was expected to do and got required resources to perform my tasks
I had a chance to attend many technical talks and got access to online training materials. I was always encouraged to spend time on personal development and learning, which was a very important part of my internship.

Company is constantly growing and recruiting new engineers. Being an intern should help develop the skills valued by the company. The placement also provided many networking opportunities which may be valuable in the future.
The Culture
There are many events organised to make meeting new people much easier from the very beginning. There was a realy friendly atmoshpere among the summer students. Interns spend time together, both helping each other with their project and socialising.
It was as cen be expected in Cambridge, rather more expensive than in the other parts of the country. However, the salary provided by the comapny makes it possible to take a full advantage of all the social options.
Nigthlife in Cambridge was very busy and colourful. There are many interesting places to go, including international pubs and clubs. There are also many fantastic restaurants serving food from all over the world.
There were volunteering options, many sports events (including gym classes and football), There are also some social clubs for playing different games (board games, card games etc.). The company provide plenty of options for everyone.
