The Role
A valuable experience, I gained a lot in understanding the different sectors within Rolls Royce manufacturing.
Over three attachments, I was warmly welcomed, spending longer in a department might have helped develop relationships further.
Mostly regular weekly updates and work evaluations.
Took part on mostly project based projects which allowed for continual progress, occasional slows due to the necessity of senior sign off.
A fair amount, during each project I worked through, I had a substantial amount of individual work and personal correspondence with external companies.
Valuable knowledge gained within a variety of manufacturing departments, I now have a much more informed view of the sector.
The Company
Work orientated but the atmosphere was relaxed enough not to feel too stressed or pressured.
Very well, I also had opportunity to determine my own internship direction.
Over the placement I had a number of training opportunities which each significantly increased my knowledge of certain role relevant skills.

The Culture
Lived with other interns, and through various social opportunities I met others also.
Derby is a relatively cheap city to live and rent in.
Derby is okay, but there are buses/taxis that run to Nottingham which is a more interesting nightlife.
Joined a climbing centre and local rowing club, both were good fun.
