The Role
I found it very enjoyable with all of the employees being very welcoming and helpful. I was given challenging tasks that meant I had to think out of the box to solve some problems.
I was welcomed into the team immediately, and felt like all the work I accomplished during my time there was much appreciated by my managers and the rest of the team. They made sure I always had everything I needed to complete the tasks I was set.
Even though my line manager worked at 2 sites meaning it was hard to see him, he always had time for me when he was around, and had made sure I had another manager to look after me when he wasn't around.
\this was a difficult one, for the most part I would have a lot of work to do, but not too much that I felt stressed but enough to fill the day, but then I could go some days with having no work to do if I was waiting for other people to be free. This could be very tedious in some places.
I was given my own independent project to work on, and the data from which is going to be used as a base line for further studies, so I'd say a fair amount of responsibility. I was also allowed to use some expensive pieces of measurement equipment.
I learnt how to conduct a process capability study and well as an MSA study all very useful skills to have within the manufacturing industry. Another useful skill will be the use of Mini tab, it's ability to assess statistical data will come in very handy for my final year of university and for the rest of my career
The Company
It was a relaxed atmosphere in the office, everyone got on really well. It was the sort of atmosphere you want to always be in,
I had clear outlined objectives that I had to complete within the time frame of my internship. The only fault I could pick was the length of time it took for me to get I.T. access which limited the amount of work I could do in the first few weeks.
If I didn't have the skills to complete a certain task I was trained in how to complete it first. I saw this especially in the use of Mini tab where I was taught initially and then given a load of self help guides for whenever I didn't understand something.

Very appealing. I have shown my interest in returning on the end of placement form. I'm hoping that I will receive a graduate job offer. If I do, I will definitely be saying yes
The Culture
I knew a couple of guys from my internship last year, so was good to meet up and see them. Also the guys in the office were really friendly and we had a couple of BBQ's throughout the Summer.
Very cheap compared to back home and university, I guess that is one of the major perks of living up North prices are comparatively cheaper.
Nottingham has one of the best night-life in the country so pretty darn good.
There weren't many no. I think if I was based in Derby where the largest proportion of interns are there would of been opportunities. But I still had a good summer
