The Role
Enterprise offers a fast paced learning environment, which encourages you to grow every step of the way. From day 1 you are given your own tasks and responsibilities, but also given the autonomy to improve your branch. Every day there are different customers and tasks, but all the staff are really welcoming and happy to help. I particularly enjoyed going out on ESQI meals with my branch, and having regular 1 on 1s with different staff who helped me set targets and focus my improvement.
There have been very few moments during my 3 months with Enterprise where I feel like 'the intern'. Everyone in the branch involves me in weekly meetings but also allows me to express my own thoughts about what our branch can do to improve. There is always a sense of inclusion and a great branch atmosphere, which allows you to overcome those busy days.
Although I had two different branch managers during my time with Enterprise, I was given guidance throughout by the management and the other trainees. In my branch it was really helpful having two members of staff ready for promotion so they were more than happy to go over certain aspects of the job with me and make me feel comfortable.
The days varied depending on the number of walk in customers and deliveries. There was always something to do even if you weren't directly dealing with customers. This included marketing tasks, invoices, HR tasks and admin. NEVER A DULL MOMENT
Plenty! As the weeks progressed the amount of responsibility I was given also increased. This really gave me a sense of development and growth. Every morning I could hold meetings or speak to the team about my areas that I was supervising.
During my time with Enterprise I have not only developed my problem solving and leadership skills, but I also feel I have developed on a personal and professional basis. I know that when I leave university and transfer into the working world, I will be much more prepared and driven to take on new challenges!
The Company
As soon as I walked into the branch the first day and saw the mini golf set, I knew this was going to be a fun place to work. The atmosphere in the branch is constantly keeping you motivated but also providing plenty of support.
From first applying online to training and to finishing my internship, Enterprise have supported me throughout! I have always felt comfortable to speak to my manager or my colleagues about hitting targets or solving problems. The 3-day residential training was fantastic! Enterprise put us in a hotel and allowed us to meet all the other three month interns! We went out for meals and did lots of tasks together which really made you feel part of a well organised process. At the end of my internship we were also taken gokarting, a great end to a very busy yet rewarding three months.!
The three days training really helped and I had support throughout the three months to sign off my stage 1. I also return to university as the new campus brand manager!
Very! With internal promotion and plenty of rewards! Enterprise is definitely a very appealing company to work for. You work hard and they will always reward you.
The Culture
In the training at admin when we went out for a meal there was always a good atmosphere. The branch meals also made me feel very much part of a team.
It was quite a long commute (45 minutes) but it meant I could live at home during the Summer and earn some money!
I lived at home so didn't really socialise in my branch area.
There were emails allowing employees to get involved in charity events, football games and pride events!
