The Role
The work I was involved in was very engaging and would be used to publish some results - so I knew what I had done would be useful to the company.
I was entrusted with a lot, and that made my contributions feel valued.
My supervisor allowed me a degree of independence, but was happy to answer my quests if I had any, or explain things that didn't quite make sense.
I always had something to do. That said, I had the time to take breaks when I wanted.
I was responsible for results that would be published accurately representing a product. This was a lot of responsibility, and made me feel valued as a result.
I have developed a lot of skills during my placement. Some of them came from Uni, others I learned on the job. It will assist me in my degree and in a graduate job in this field.
The Company
The people in my office were open and friendly. There was no negativity at all.
The goals for my internship were highlighted to me at the start so I knew what the end goal was. This allowed me to plan my time effectively and keep my objectives in sight. Some stuff was delayed as a result of an external company, but this was not as a result of poor planning.
ARM run Lunch and Learns, as well as departmental 'doughnut sessions'. These are run regularly and everyone is welcome to attend. As well as a snack, speaks deliver interesting and relevant content about something within the department/company to better our understanding of it.

Many interns get offered a job after there placement. I am unsure yet, but will find out soon!
The Culture
The other interns organized social events, which were good fun.
Cambridge can be an expensive place to live, which is something to be weary of. Socially, there is a lot on offer within the city, but it can be expensive!
Cambridge has a decent nightlife, and is always good fun.
ARM offers activities outside of work, however I personally did not partake in any.
