The Role
Really enjoyed all aspects of the 10 weeks I spent at RBS. From the CSR events, to the speaker sessions (presentations from senior representatives from different areas of the bank), to desk work - everything was great.
I felt valued by my team as a result of the work that carried out. I was acknowledged in group meetings which made me feel extremely valued
I was given presentations and projects to work on throughout the internship and encouraged by my supervisors to talk to as many people as possible which helped with the easing in process.
I went through a very steep learning curve where I was learning about different parts of markets.
I was given the responsibility of some daily procedures which made me feel like I was contributing
They will assist me hugely in my future career but won't contribute much towards my studies.
The Company
Very friendly. Most people are willing to talk to you and will be more than happy to help you understand what they do. The atmosphere is professional but not sterile.
Events were planned well in advance and the internship as a whole was well organised.
Alot. During the induction week we had 3 days of intensive division specific training from Fitch.
Company Parties/Events
The general feeling is that the business has undergone the majority of the restructuring that was planned and the employment prospects are good throughout Markets. This is finance though so prospects are never going to be amazing.
The Culture
The interns went out most Fridays
I lived at home so rent was not an issue. Food and socialising costs are fairly standard for London.
Great. Lots of pubs and bars.
yes, there were lots of sporting and charity events that interns could get involved in
