The Role
I enjoyed working for LIDL very much and have gained a great insight into how the business operates as a whole. The experience was definitely challenging at times, yet an invaluable experience which I would recommend to everybody.
While I was working for LIDL I definitely felt that I contributed towards the team and whatever department I went in I felt like a valued member.
Throughout the entire process I had support and guidance by all of my line managers to help me develop my skills.
Extremely busy at times! However, in other departments it was just right.
Towards the end of my placement with LIDL I was running my own shifts in store, so there was quite a lot of responsibility placed upon my shoulders.
There were some skills that I have developed and will bring forward with me however, there was times I felt I could have learnt more!
The Company
The working environment was always positive in every department that I went into.
The organisation of the placement programme was amazing! Right at the beginning of the process you will receive a placement folder with your entire year planned out for you, along with other helpful hints and tips.
The company invested a lot of time and money into me. Every department I went into the manager was happy to take time out of their busy schedule to help train me up/ show me their job role.

Somewhat appealing. My managers have said they would love to have me back but it completely depends on the job role they offer me. I don't want to be stuck in a job role that I hate!
The Culture
Only at times.
The cost of socialising and living was relatively cheap in the area I worked in.
Amazing
Not really. You spend so much time working (shift work) waking up at crazy O'clock that you don't really have much of a social life. Then again, it depends on which department you are in! Some are mon-fri job roles.
