The Role
The work was challenging and varied - although the placement was not the lab based role I had initially expected. Future applicants are provided full details of where their placement will be in the future now. The work always kept me on my toes, there was always lots to do so the days always went quick!
I generally felt valued throughout the whole office - my opinion was always asked for and I was felt like a part of the team. Occasionally I was spoken down to, but that was more from an individual rather than a team - GSK generally value anyone's opinion.
I had regular 1 to 1's with my team leader. In these meetings my progress was feedback to me and I could voice any concerns or requests in regards to my placement.
As mentioned above, I was quite busy!
I was given a fair amount of responsibility, it was always nice when members of staff are surprised that you are student and not an employee!!
This was difficult, there was few technical skills I learnt that could apply to my degree - but I have achieved some great leadership, project management, etc. skills.
The Company
Everyone was busy, but there were always staff nights out, charity events, etc.
Everything ran smoothly, no problems.
I did feel like an employee; my training and skills development was monitored and I had the opportunity to complete some training courses.

I have been recommended for the graduate scheme.
The Culture
You could always find something to do at weekends!
Fairly good, compared to university accommodation I had been paying! The local town was quite cheap, or we could jump on the train to Brighton for a night out (which cost a bit more £££).
We had a couple of clubs to pick from and a fair array of pubs.
Yeah I would say so, local clubs and GSK had a football team too.
