The Role
I enjoyed working at GSK however the feeling of being constantly controlled was not conducive to working.
I did feel valued by fellow IP students however full-time employees very often looked down on me despite having no or very little knowledge in a particular field I had been working on extensively.
A lot, sometimes too much. Bear in mind that supervisors are very rarely PhDs and may lack knowledge that you may need.
Very busy.
Very little, fortunately I found a field I could take on responsibility for.
A great skill set. Starting with interpersonal skills and finish with cutting-edge science.
The Company
Lots of fun and great atmosphere.
Very well organised.
Literally nothing despite the effort and the results of my work.
Flexi Time
Sports and Social Club
Subsidised/Company Gym
Company Parties/Events
Subsidised Canteen
Financial Bonus
Staff Sales/Staff Shop
Very little.
The Culture
They seemed to get on very well.
London - pretty expensive
Don't know, never went out in Stevenage - lived with friends in central London.
Not much - lack of time.
