    The Role

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • I enjoyed working at GSK however the feeling of being constantly controlled was not conducive to working.

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued by your colleagues?
  • I did feel valued by fellow IP students however full-time employees very often looked down on me despite having no or very little knowledge in a particular field I had been working on extensively.

  • A lot, sometimes too much. Bear in mind that supervisors are very rarely PhDs and may lack knowledge that you may need.

  • Very busy.

  • Very little, fortunately I found a field I could take on responsibility for.

  • A great skill set. Starting with interpersonal skills and finish with cutting-edge science.

  • Lots of fun and great atmosphere.

  • They seemed to get on very well.

  • London - pretty expensive

  • Don't know, never went out in Stevenage - lived with friends in central London.

  • Not much - lack of time.
