The Role
It was excellent, working alongside a variety of other students and permanent staff, my work was enjoyable. Non-work and social activities were frequent.
All staff were very supportive, from other students all the way up to senior vice presidents that I met.
My manager was brilliant, always helping me when needed, and my supervisor put in a lot if time and effort to leach me new things and make sure I was always happy with the work.
Mostly the right balance, having a sufficient workload that was both challenging and fun. Occasionally between projects there was a bit of downtime.
I was given complete responsibility for the work I was involved in, arranging my own meetings and making decisions when required.
What I learnt was a continuation of the skills learn at university, helping me to become better and discovering what it is like to use them in a real workplace.
The Company
A serious office but with fun events organised to get to know the other staff.
It was run very well, with the HR team at hand to answer any queries.
I learnt a lot from other staff and team days, and was also allowed to study for certification during work hours, but no funded training was provided.

There is a graduate scheme which was open to us, however being a previous industrial placement student gives little benefit. Would have applied were there a scheme of interest.
The Culture
A very strong social scene, especially amongst the students. The office as a while had fun event throughout the year, and the students often met up out of work.
Living in Stevenage was much cheaper than what I was used to in London! Rent was cheap and everything was generally reasonably priced.
Not a lot of nightlife! Went to pubs etc but only one club. Close enough to other towns though if you wanted a proper night out, and even London at a push.
There were all sorts if things to get involved with, especially while site charity events. Also team/office/department events.
