The Role
I thoroughly enjoyed the placement. I was given long term project work as well as short term BAU tasks to undertake throughout my internship. Many speaker sessions and networking sessions were provided as well which improved the placement.
I felt immediately valued by my colleagues as from day 1 I was given many tasks that were previously being undertaken by my colleagues. All of the work I undertook was value adding.
The advice and guidance I received from everybody at the bank was brilliant and I could not fault how supportive all of my colleagues were.
This varied throughout the internship. Overall, I was given taskst that made sure I was busy everyday throughout my internship, often having to come in early or stay late to complete tasks set.
I was given a huge amount of responsibility undertaking lots of long term projects for my team.
It will not directly assist me in my degree studies, perhaps largely in terms of time management, however what I have learnt throughout the 10 weeks will be invaluable for my future.
The Company
There was a great feeling of collaboration throughout the bank, as well as a mutual confidence in the performance of the Bank going forward.
Everything was organised in advance, upon arrival I received a welcome pack outlining everything that I need to know which I was able to refer to later on. As well as that, everything throughout my internship was added to my calendar upon arrival which helped me to settle in.
The company invested a lot of time and money into me during my placement. Training sessions, one-to-one meetings, speaker sessions etc.

The graduate program has been changed and improved, it looks very appealing and interesting.
The Culture
All of the other interns were great - the social scene was very good,
For me personally it was very cheap. Great location with good value bars, and close to where I live so cheap travel.
Just near Shoreditch, and very central - great nightlife.
There were loads of opportunities to get involved in socials and sports.
