The Role
Great environment to work in, lots of other placement students provide a good social scene, whilst the work on offer is interesting and challenging.
Everyone is very friendly and welcoming, not just team mates but colleagues throughout the business.
Always able to ask for help and support if needed. Either from day to day manager or team, or through a manager dedicated to your progress.
Was always busy, there was never a time where I had nothing to do. The work was challenging but satisfying.
Asked to manage the recruitment for a particular scheme. Worked under very little supervision but was able to ask for help if it was needed.
Developed excellent communication, presenting and time management skills. Have also become a more confident person.
The Company
The team was very friendly, although it was not as social as some of the other teams within IBM.
Manager dedicated to your development as well as a task manager.
Handover with previous placement student, constant on the job training. You will always be finding new things to learn about. It's a very interesting environment.

Portsmouth itself can be quite cheap, accommodation can be found for as little as £50 a week. Certainly cheaper than living in London.
Wide variety of social clubs and sports teams, including football and cricket.
