    The Role

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • My internship with PwC was a great experience to learn more about what it is like to work in a professional environment, working on real jobs and clients, and being given responsibility for the work I was assigned to.

    5/5

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued by your colleagues?
  • Everyone at PwC was extremely helpful and friendly, everytime I had a question I could go and ask colleagues or my buddy for help, and tied friendships with my fellow interns.

    5/5

  • 3. To what extent were you given support and guidance by management/your supervisor(s)?
  • I was given guidance from my in charge at the beginning of each job as well as thourghout, whenever I had any questions. I feel the management have been really supportive, in particular my People Manager that was supervising my progress.

    5/5

  • 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?
  • There was a good balance of work as everytime there wasn't anything I could do on the job I was booked on I could ask other managers for work or send an Available for work e-mail.

    4/5

  • 5. How much responsibility were you given during your placement?
  • I was given the responsibility to work on real clients, using the systems on my own so I can familiarise myself with them, however I always had an in charge that I could go to and ask questions if there was anything I was unsure about. I was encouraged to make decisions on my own but also ask for help where needed.

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • The 6 weeks I spent on this internship has helped me develop my study skills as I had to do research and also become more organised as I was working to a schedule. I feel this will be really helpful in my 4th year when preparing for my dissertation.

    5/5

    The Company

  • 7. What was the general atmosphere in your office?
  • Great atmosphere in the office, everyone was really friendly and had lots of social events throughout the internship.

    5/5

  • 8. How well organised was the overall work placement or internship set up?
  • The internship was very well organised - we went for training in Daventry in Birmingham and also had a Dragons' Den competition in London in our last week. Throughout the internship we were assigned a people manager, and everything was set up just as for permanent employees.

    5/5

  • 9. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • I feel that there was a huge investment in my training and development as I attended an induction event where we were given training for three days as well as another two days of training in the office. After the first week I feel I was being given the coaching I needed in terms of using the IT systems as well as understanding the line of service I was doing - Assurance.
