The Role
I thoroughly enjoyed my placement with Savills. I was given responsibility for projects of my own and was encouraged to take part in a diverse range of different projects.
By the end of the placement I felt that I was a valued member of team. It felt as though any input I had was genuinely useful and helpful towards the completion of projects. It was as though I was being given similar tasks to those of the Graduate in the team with a little extra support, of course!
I was well supported by all members of the team. Everybody/anybody in the office would give input on any tasks that I needed advice with.
Very busy! Apart from the odd quiet day, I always had work to to or was taken out on a site visit.
I was given responsibility for my own tasks, sending emails, letters and making phone calls, as well as writing sections of reports which were later checked by my supervisor.
The skills were invaluable in aiding me in my aim to become a chartered surveyor. The diversity of the experience I gained was vital - it was particularly helpful that I was given tasks by many different members of the team.
The Company
Very friendly and efficient...lots of work was done whilst we still managed to socialize as a team during lunch hours and after work.
An extremely well organised placement run from the Graduate Team in London. Emails were always full of all relevant information and any queries were answered promptly.
The team taught me a numerous skills that I can take forward, by teaching me how to use systems, the style of writing and templates used in the industry. Shadowing on site visits also allowed me to learn how the client-business relationship works.
Financial Bonus
I would love to get a job with the firm...after all they are one of the top employers in my target industry. Fingers crossed!
The Culture
The office would socialize as a team after hours and during lunch time which helped to create a sense of cohesion between the different departments.
