The Role
It was packed full of activities and I got to see a lot of the different parts of the company. It helped me get a better understanding of the sector I want to work in and made me realise what aspects of that sector I am most interested in. My colleagues were fantastic and my manager was really good.
They have said nothing but kind words to me and keep saying how much they will miss me, so I am very happy. They made a big fuss on the last week when I was leaving too, which was really appreciated. The team seems really close and a great unit and I will miss them all.
I was given guidance on how to go about certain tasks but I was not really given a full introduction but that may have been because I was interning in a different department to most others. I would have liked to have been given a few more lessons on the terminal.
I was busy most on Mondays and Fridays when I had to juggle the Hot Tickets desk with other tasks. I was also very busy when we had volunteering events or large activities such as the Poppy Planting in the Tower of London. There were some days however when I was not given too much to do or I finished things quicker than expected.
I was given jobs that many of my colleagues normally do so I think that was quite a large responsibility. In terms of representing or making an impact at the company, I did little external things and my daily operations resided in the office/department so the role stopped there.
I will not know until after I go back to university but I can imagine the fast paced and frantic work life will help me meet deadlines and reach the targets I need for my degree course. The multitasking skills I have acquired will definitely help, but also gaining knowledge in the field of work and realising that a lot of what I do at university should apply to this sphere is important.
The Company
Great vibrant atmosphere, with people constantly collaborating and being creative. People met in the pantry and had good discussions about work, further boosting the innovative side of the company. In comparison to other offices I have been to, this is one of the best and one of the most energetic/different.
I do not fully understand this question but the introduction day was very fun and engaging while it also helped build networks and connections at an early stage. The events on Fridays, including the Lunch & Learns, were also very informative and helpful. Having these kinds of events let the interns talk to one another about their experiences but also let them reflect on the time they were having. Some of the events were a bit low key though, including the Bank of England trip.
There was very little personal training or inductions but that may have been because I was in a unique department that did not function like some of the other areas of the company do. I still realise how invaluable the experience I have acquired is though and will always be grateful for the opportunities Bloomberg gave me.

Company Parties/Events
There appears to be little progression in my department because the employees differentiate in sectors not hierarchy. This means the employment prospects would probably remain at quite an elementary level for a while. However, in other departments it appears there is greater flexibility and mobility.
The Culture
For some of the interns there appeared to be a lot of social activity because they were all new to London and all had flats near by. During the intern events there was a lot conversations and plans made involving activities out of work. The pub close by made it easy to chat outside of work too.
n/a- I lived at home during my placement.
I did not really experience the nightlife in the area of my work. The city of London has some of the best nightlife in the world though.
There was a regular football list but it was difficult for interns to get on it and it often started when we were still at work. There was not much mixing of employees and interns outside of work but during the last week, for Intern Awards Night, the mentors came down and socialized for a while.
