The Role
During the first three weeks where we had a group task we were working on. This provided some degree of focus and purpose to the task given. However the other seven weeks were much less enjoyable in terms of the tasks given.
I did not feel necessarily valued nor undervalued.
I received excellent support from both the mentors I was given.
During the customer service and FAQ project there was a degree of pressure at times to get things done of time for the presentation and also an aspect of 'being busy'. However in the seven week spent in sales, there was not much to do as such and seeing clients was limited to once or twice for the whole period, mainly doing excel tasks and calling clients to download the Bloomberg Mobile App.
Was not a great deal of responsibility in the sense of handling large tasks but speaking to real clients on the phone is a substantial amount of responsibility.
I developed in many ways during this internship, there was quality training about financial products across the asset classes, experience in a somewhat client facing role and having Bloomberg on one's CV is an incredible asset to anyone.
The Company
The office is friendly yet rather quiet, not at all faced paced or exciting.
The first three weeks were very structured and organised in Analytics. The seminars set up with different internal and external people and the community service projects were great. However the time spent in sales lacked direction.
The training sessions were in depth and thorough, good investment. . As well as the CV and interview workshop.
Subsidised Canteen
Company Parties/Events
Depends on the person however for many they were not incredibly appealing in sales and analytics.
The Culture
Very good social scenes from the internal events and also external.
Central London rates. Expensive.
N/A
There were many opportunities to get involved in sport.
