The Role
I enjoyed all of my internship, it surpassed my expectations, all of the work was enjoyable and the people were even better.
As mentioned above, the people in my team were all incredibly friendly and approachable, which was useful especially at the start when you are meeting lots of people and nervous.
The support system is great, with a buddy to ask any day to day questions to, and a people manager who supports the process, your progression and feedback. They were all happy to answer unlimited questions and concerns throughout the internship programme.
Because the internship was over summer, and lots were coming and going on holiday the amount of work fluctuated. At the start I had to ask for bits of work, but after that I was kept sufficiently busy for the remainder of the programme.
Responsibiltiy is difficult, because yes they give you the same level of work as a grad, and I did lots of work directly for managers and senior managers, but all of the work at PwC is checked through multiple times so you dont give anything directly to a client for example, it all gets reviewed first.
I have worked on multiple reports, which has helped my editing, english skills and general report writing. I also presented a couple of times to peers throughout the programme, which PwC help you with and is definately going to be useful for presentations at uni. My email and general people skills have also been improved. Training on many of these aspects was provided also.
The Company
In general there is a working atmosphere, however there is always a bit of chat in between and people have a laugh, at all levels of the team! It does seem to be work hard but there is plenty of laughs to get you through.
I honestly can't fault the organisation which is put into the internship, it is so polished and the work which must go into running it behind the scenes is crazy. They ask for feedback every internship and if anything is suggested by a few people they will implement it next time.
There are 3 training days at the start in a hotel which was fun, then office and regonal training days, and another training day in the middle. There are also objectives which you set for yourself at the start and they will help you to achieve those during the internship.

I got an offer, and there seems to be almost unlimited potential for travel and changes of department after you have worked at PwC for 3 years (if you are doing the proffesional qualification) and sooner if not!
The Culture
I went out with the interns each week for drinks, and food, had lunch with them each day. With the office there were monthly socials, and I played football with a couple of teams after work.
Birmingham is reasonably priced to go out in, not the cheapest in some areas but not london by a long shot.
The centre of Birmingham has lots of choice for bars, and a few big clubs to chose from, casinos etc. Some are nicer than others but it depends where you fancy going really/ amount of money you want to spend.
As mentioned earlier, there were lots of social events with the interns, as well as the team if you are keen on a sport, and if not a few team socials and events you can join such as quizes and drinks nights etc.
