The Role
Was made to feel a vital part of a friendly and social team.
Was treated as any other member of the team, meaning my insights expertise were valued by the team.
My manager allowed me to develop at my own pace adding extra responsiblities as I became ready. He was very supportive and always made sure the work was important and challenging.
The work load was heavily dependent on the project I was workin g on with some requiring long days in the office and others requiring less, however, working on flexi time I was able to manage my hours around the projects.
At the time the analysis service was still a relatively new concept within the team, meaning we had a very small team. This allowed me to develop my projects and have my views listened to. Also I was often responsible for liasing with the internal clients I was completing the project for to ensure it matched what was required.
The placement allowed me to develop a number of skills which I would not have gained simply through university study and also allowed me to make a more balanced choice about a future career.
The Company
The office was usually relaxed but professinal.
Still a new team at the time of my placement and the statisitcal training weas not very advanced at that point in time.
Flexi Time
Subsidised/Company Gym
Decided on a different career path.
The Culture
The team was very friendly and often organised social events outside of the work place.
Sheffield is a northern city with a huge student population as such there is always loads of affordable things to do and places to live.
Sheffield is a lively and cheap student city with loads of affordable student bars and clubs.
Having already lived in Sheffield I was still able to participate in the same activities I did before placement.
