The Role
I really enjoyed the placement. Coming into work everyday was a real delight and I'm humble to be given the opportunity to do something I really enjoy with people that share my level of enthusiasm.
As an intern starting out, I felt nervous and uneasy when approaching people from the job, but the people in my team were extremely friendly and helped me settle in.
It was a really great and educational experience. I didn't find it difficult to settle in as my work colleagues were inviting and didn't mind teaching me the ropes.
Very busy indeed. I had to do challenging work everyday, but I enjoyed it as I am a person that likes a constant flow of work. There wasn't a day that I was twiddling my thumbs which was a big plus but at the same time the work that I was given was never overwhelming.
I was treated as a real member of my team and they expected me to do the same amount of work as they were doing. My opinions and ideas were always heard and taken into account which I felt was an important part of feeling part of the team and the company.
All of the skills I gained/improved will no doubt help me in the future. I felt as if my presentation and communication skills improved as well as many other soft skills such as being able to put across ideas in a more succinct way.
The Company
Very laid back and relaxing. I felt at home when in the office due to nice interior and the friendly co-workers. It was a great environment to work in!
Everything was already organised for me and the other interns, which was very impressive and helped me settle in. There wasn't any part of the internship that I felt was disorganised.
There was a week of training at the start of the placement which prepared me for the rest. This week of training really helped me to understand the challenges that I would face in the remainder of the internship.

Company Parties/Events
I was offered a job to join the firm next Summer.
The Culture
There were three social events organised for all of the placement students. One at the start of the placement to celebrate becoming an intern, one relatively soon afterwards, to help us settle, and one at the end to send us off.
It wasn't as expensive as I thought it would be. For my apartment, I didn't have to pay very much, and the bars in the area were also reasonable.
There were a number of bars and clubs around the area. The bar I went into was friendly and inviting, allowing me to converse with the bartender for a bit. I also met quite a few nice people on the nights out.
Yes, there was a noticeboard at the company that advertised various types of activities. Things like football and basketball tournaments as well as a nearby gym.
