The Role
My summer placement was a great experience, it allowed me to develop personally and professionally! It is a valuable addition to my CV.
I was treated with respect and was given responsibility to match. My colleagues made me feel part of the team!
My manager always made herself available to answer my questions, to make sure I had enough work to keep me engaged, and to organise events to ensure I had the best experience possible!
I was always given enough work to keep me occupied; I pursued extra work when I had the opportunity!
I was given more responsibility as the placement progressed, as I was able to prove my reliability.
The experience allowed me to develop my communication skills and my abilities in negotiation, I see these as invaluable tools for the future...
The Company
The office was a calm and easy atmosphere and everyone there was approachable. Food was brought in to keep up spirits and everyone got along. I was really impressed by the office atmosphere.
The placement ran like clockwork with the exception of IT. It took over three weeks for me to have access to a working laptop. This didn't have to large an impact on my work but it should not be allowed to happen again.
The company supported my costs and gave me all the resources necessary for my job. They have always been good to me when speaking on the phone and I have always received prompt responses. I was given time aside to visit engine tests and to tour facilities, beyond the role of my job. This training was useful to appreciate the overall operation of the business.

I have a very good chance of employment with the company. They are to offer me a position of the graduate scheme in the next few months. I look forward to joining the scheme; it offers variety of experience and the chance to travel.
The Culture
I met a few fellow students on the placement and they were very friendly and competent for the times when we were working together.
Bristol is a great place to live; the accommodation is cheap and the town is an excellent place for a night out. The city centre has all the standard facilities for a large city.
The night life in Bristol was pretty standard, good bars and a couple of decent clubs but nothing out of the ordinary.
There was a company car day, where people brought in classic cars and we all got to see them at lunch time, there was a trip to see and engine undergoing test. There was a gym and a company cricket team which I had the chance to get involved with.
