    The Role

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • I enoyed the internship greatly. It was a great way to allow me to put my skills that I had learned in university to good use. I definitely recommend it to anyone considering it as I learned a lot and I thought it was extremely worthwhile.

    4/5

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued by your colleagues?
  • My team valued me very highly - like I had always been apart of their team. I always felt as if I could talk to them at any point during the internship. From the very start I knew that I would work well with these people and overall it made the internship enjoyable to be working with such friendly and inviting people.

  • 3. To what extent were you given support and guidance by management/your supervisor(s)?
  • My manager always took the time out of his day to talk and help me out with anything I needed. This made it much easier to settle in at the start of the internship. During the internship, if I had any problems I did not hesitate to ask for help as this is what my manager wanted me to do.

    4/5

  • 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?
  • I didn't think the balance was that bad actually. It ventured on the side of more work than play but I still found it manageable and I had a good time. It does depend on your team though since some teams are more busy than others at different times in the year.

    5/5

  • 5. How much responsibility were you given during your placement?
  • I was given quite a large responsibility I would say. I got to lead my own project and it gave me a lot of experience in this area. I still had to ask for help from my colleagues, but I definitely learned a lot from this experience.

    4/5

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • I have no doubt that the skills that I have gained during this internship will be used in later life, for example in the rest of my studies at university and in my professional careers.

    The Company

  • 7. What was the general atmosphere in your office?
  • It was a very pleasant atmosphere that I found very productive to work in. There wasn't too much distraction in the office which was good and the open layout made it very easy to approach people.

    4/5

  • 8. How well organised was the overall work placement or internship set up?
  • Very well organised on the whole. I felt that the organisation seemed quite polished and I expected this from the company since they have done this for some many years. I knew about all the events and what was happening right from the beginning.

    3/5

  • 9. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • Right from the beginning I felt that the company really wants you to do well. They give you all the training you need and my manager even encouraged me to do more during the internship. This definitely sharpened my skills. Personal development through one to one interviews is second to none. A great way to improve.

    3/5

  • 10. What were the perks on your work placement?
  • Subsidised Canteen

    5/5

  • 11. How appealing are future employment prospects within the organisation?
  • I got a offer from them! Now to finish university with the required grade 2:1

    The Culture

  • 12. Was there a good social scene amongst any fellow placement students/colleagues?
  • Nice social scene with the interns. We all got to know each other pretty well and went out for lunch and dinner together often. It was also great having people to go to pubs and clubs with in the evening.

    4/5

  • 13. What was the cost of living and socialising in the area you worked in?
  • Being London it was a tad expensive, but the internship pays well so I didn't have too many problems. It was a great experience anyway!

    2/5

  • 14. What was the Nightlife like in the area you worked?
  • Very enjoyable and colourful. I was never short of places to choose from. I would really love to stay here longer to visit all of the places in the area the places that I went to were top notch!

    4/5

  • 15. Were there many opportunities to get involved in activities outside of work?
  • There were quite a few opportunities to volunteer. There were also a lot of sports that we could take part in with the other people in the office. I played football with my colleagues on a weekly basis.
