The Role
Overall it was good, everyone tries to help you learn as much as you can.
I got on with everyone very well, in terms of feeling valued you are very much restricted by the responsibility of work given to you.
Great support from everyone, not just supervisors.
With just the work given to me I would have had a bit of spare time, but you have to use that spare time to find out more about the rest of the bank and so in reality I was never bored.
A fair amount - ranged from some admin tasks to developing strategy ideas.
The specific training doesn't really translate across to my degree, but the skills I developed and learning how to work effectively in this environment will definitely help me in my future working life.
The Company
Good - people would work hard but if you wanted a quick chat people would accommodate that and have a bit of a conversation. It was friendly and proactive environment.
Apart from some IT difficulties the system of the rotational scheme was well organised. Other events and charity days were also very well ran and set up.
Everyone is really supportive and really encourages you to develop your skills further. We had a few days training before we started which really were beneficial and then even during the desk work, colleagues would spend the time needed helping you learn. There were also separate days to help develop inter personal skills.
Company Parties/Events
Been offered a future role.
The Culture
Definitely - we all got along well and on a Friday would often spend the evening together at a local place.
High - but worth it.
Quite expensive but a good range for everyone.
There were some sport events and charity days organised by the bank for the evenings, and then interns ran our own little things too.
