The Role
I very much enjoyed working for the company and would recommend other to work for them.
Very friendly staff, didn't feel like the new guy or the intern at all.
Help every step of the way if needed.
Always had something to do throughout the internship. I was happy to take on the work load straight away without any delay when I started and it expanded at a good pace from there.
I was happy taking on documentation to review myself.
I have based my level 3 project around the skills I have developed while working on this internship. The insight in technical documentation will prove to be valuable through the rest of my studies and beyond.
The Company
Relax working environment where we were encouraged not to sit around at the desk for long periods of time. I was surprised that such a large open plan office could be so quiet without many distractions. Not to mention there were always cakes and biscuits around to eat.
Despite a few technical issue along the way the placement was well structured and organised in a way that suited me perfectly.
During my placement I was able to attend a couple of in-house training courses. The these courses helped me in the placement and given me some extra skill to take away.
Flexi Time
Sports and Social Club
Company Parties/Events
I have had some positive feed back from the staff that I have been in direct contact with, this could potentially lead onto something in the future.
The Culture
We had a few social events, both as a large intern group, small groups of intern and inter departmental gathering.
I was able to stay with family so living costs were kept low. Socializing in the area was nice, plenty of choice. However this came at a slightly higher cost to what I would normally pay.
I didn't haven time during the placement to sample the nightlife, but have heard from other intern that it's a great place to go out.
Depending how much you want to put yourself out there, as there are plenty of opportunities to get involved with work related activities and non work related activities.
