    The Role

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • Very much so, first few weeks were quite nerve-wracking as I felt out of my depth and my placement wasn't directly related to my degree, but after getting settled, enjoyed it more week by week.

    4/5

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued by your colleagues?
  • Very much so, always help when needed and felt treated like an equal and that what I did genuinely mattered. Occasionally a little stranded when deadlines were approaching for colleagues but those were few and far between and very understandable.

    5/5

  • 3. To what extent were you given support and guidance by management/your supervisor(s)?
  • Clear brief, regular feedback if asked and help always available

    4/5

  • 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?
  • Generally not that busy, but just about busy enough to keep interested. Enough wider research to be done to stay occupied.

    3/5

  • 5. How much responsibility were you given during your placement?
  • Almost sole responsibility for my two projects, but with sufficient guidance and support to not feel too responsible. Allowed to represent JLR to external companies.

    4/5

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • Minimally due to the area I was placed in, but good to get a wider perspective and some general knowledge in another area. As well as general working/business life experience.

    3/5

    The Company

  • 7. What was the general atmosphere in your office?
  • Couldn't recommend it enough, quiet at times but everyone was very friendly, helpful and willing to take the time to make the effort and talk to you.

    5/5

  • 8. How well organised was the overall work placement or internship set up?
  • Clearly prepared for my arrival with specific projects in mind

    5/5

  • 9. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • Not much past the standard online training presentations etc. but in terms of a personal investment from the team, plenty. Not much else expected really considering the 12 week timeframe

    3/5

  • 10. What were the perks on your work placement?
  • Subsidised Canteen

    3/5

  • 11. How appealing are future employment prospects within the organisation?
  • Very, hoping for a grad scheme offer

    4/5

    The Culture

  • 12. Was there a good social scene amongst any fellow placement students/colleagues?
  • Although I didn't live with the majority of placement students, it sounded like they enjoyed themselves

    4/5

  • 13. What was the cost of living and socialising in the area you worked in?
  • Not sure but sounded reasonable

    3/5

  • 14. What was the Nightlife like in the area you worked?
  • No personal experience but sounded above average

    3/5

  • 15. Were there many opportunities to get involved in activities outside of work?
  • Through the company, not particularly but again, with the limited timeframe I think that'd be an unfair expectation. A couple of socials within the department throughout my placement.

    4/5
