The Role
I found the internship highly rewarding and enjoyable. I was given chance to work on various types of projects, requiring different skills and abilities. Apart from valueble experience I gained, I was trained in several CAD programs, extending my computer skills.
Again, this feeling increased gradually with time, however I felt welcomed from the very begining of my internship
From the very first moment I knew I could ask for help virtually everyone in the office and I wouln't be turned down.
This differed, as at the beginning of my placement the office was low on jobs, however after couple of weeks I was engaged in 3 separate projects which kept me busy till the end of the internship
The work was getting more enjoyable with every passing week, with the team appreciating my skills and learning thay can trust me with more demanging jobs. However I felt slightly underestimated in terms of responsobility I was given
I found that my internship was an extension of my course. The knowledge I have had before the placement was sufficient to perform given tasks, while the jobs I was given increased it and halped me understand meaning of theretical knowledge in practice. I hope that the team work skills I have developed during my intership will be usefull not only during studies but in future career .
The Company
Very warm and firendly, I never met with any kind of hostility or rudeness. I enjoyed jogging or playing football with colleagues during lunchbreaks as well as graduate social I was invited to despite not being a graduate yet.
After dealing with some technical issues with login credentials at the beginning, the internship was organised in a satisfying manner, however I wasn't entirely convinced that everything was prepared well in advance. The main problem I was facing at the start of the placement was lack of specific tasks I could perform.
I was given chance to use professional CAD programs I don't have access to as a student. I also attended a series of lectures of colleagues talking about their experience as engineers
