The Role
I found the work interesting but also challenging. I enjoyed my time there and learn a lot. I do, however feel more could be done to get all the interns and graduates together in order to create a better social life after work hours
I felt I was given responsibility within my team and therefore had the opportunity to contribute to reaching their milestones, this meant I felt like a valued member of the team despite the steep learning curve I encountered. However due to the time limit there was a ceiling on how integrated with the team I could become
I was given enough support and guidance but not too much so that I had to make some decisions for myself. I initially felt I was in the way as due to the steep learning curve I had a lot of questions but this feeling went with time as I became more competent in my role
Not nearly busy enough for the first 2 weeks, the rest of the time was fine with the final week being very busy as would be expected
I felt I was given a lot more responsibility than I expected during my time there which allowed me to integrate better with the team as I felt I had a useful purpose which would benefit them
I am now working on a Rolls Royce based forth year project at university so I will be using it alot
The Company
A friendly atmosphere as a whole but not as dynamic and driven as I expected. I did not feel inspired by those around me which I felt was a shame as I am sure they are all very competent individuals
Very well organised although adaption to my objectives was required due to the gain of better knowledge of the software I was working on
Not hugely although I see there is more room for that in a longer more fixed role within the company.
Subsidised/Company Gym
Quite appealing my only issues with returning are the location of the sites and the fact I didn't find the environment as driven and inspiring as I was hoping for
The Culture
no, this is one large area I felt they fell down on. There should have been more introduction events organised particularly for people like me who started a week late
living cost was quite expensive, I was paying £125 a week with university accommodation for their lowest standard room. Socialising could be quite cheep with good local knowledge.
Very good I am told but I did not feel I gained the most from it because of the lack of introduction to other interns. There are however some very cool bars and clubs around
no, not enough. More focus should be put on this in order to bond people together
