The Role
I really enjoyed my internship. The work I did was varied and exciting and my team, the other interns and everyone I worked with were supportive and very friendly.
I felt valued by the team and I was given important tasks to work on by myself. I was always thanked and praised for the work that I did.
I had regular reviews with my manager which helped me progress with my work, and she also helped me with my job applications.
Some days were quieter than others, but overall a good work balance.
I was responsible for sourcing donation raffle prizes and samples for goodie bags that were needed at the supporter events.
I have been offered a full time job at the charity, and this would not have happened without the skills I learnt during my internship.
The Company
Most of my team are home based, so could be quiet at times, but when people were around the office had a fun, supportive and relaxed atmosphere.
Very well organised.
My manager was very supportive and we worked on my personal development plan together. She arranged introductions into other departments within the charity that I was interested in, and helped me gain the experience in areas that I wanted more experience in. We also had CV training days and a presentation skills workshop which were both very useful.
Flexi Time
Subsidised Canteen
Company Parties/Events
Very appealing- I have just secured my first job in the charity!
The Culture
I have made some fantastic friends during my internship, there was normally a group of interns up for going for a drink pretty much every night after work, and we had intern meals out, went to the theatre etc...
Pretty standard London prices.
Lots of really nice pubs, bars and places to eat.
The interns did some fundraising by organising cake sales and pub quizzes. We were also given the oopuntity to volunteer at the charity's events- I worked at the Tesco Summer Time ball which was a great experience.
