The Role
Really nice atmosphere.
I was not given joke work, the work I did was useful for the team
Teaching and help form supervisors is really helpful
A good amount of work, enough to have something to do, not too much to have to stress over deadlines
Someone was there to make sure I didn't accidentally ruin the software, so I didn't need to worry too much.
The work I did is quite relevant to my degree
The Company
Laid back and nice office, with enough productivity to not make you feel guilty chatting
The team had already sorted something out for me when I got there
I got a lot of help from the people there, and several social events took place to make sure that the interns had something to do in the evenings.
Flexi Time
Subsidised Canteen
Sports and Social Club
Company Parties/Events
They seem to be wanting to try new things, which is very rare in software development. So I think they are likely to keep with the times
The Culture
People wanted to go to the cinema/pub/gym most evenings
Center of Birmingham was where people went to go out... and it is a bit more expensive than other places
We went out in the center of Birmingham, which has lots of nice pubs
Delcam have a climbing club, which is subsidised and is really good fun.
