About You
Loved it!
I felt like a real employee at the company and not a outsider being shown around on a "school trip". The insight was very well designed to give you knowledge on all the divisions and how they're run.
Not much individual feedback on activities but we didn't do to many so it was not a big shame. Had the ability to network with current interns/placements/grad students and full-time employees so we had the ability to ask loads of questions about our divisions and what life would be like working in the company. Also had the ability to work shaddow so we could get to know what we would exactly be doing.
Networking skills. Not so much helped me in my degree but I now have an idea of what skills to develope if I was to go into the banking world.
The Company
Very well structured, we had long days (8:30 till 6:00) but the time flied by as you was constantly entertained or doing something.
Happy, friendly and open to questions!
Work shaddowing, talking to current employees, presentation skills session and a few group exersises.
Gave me a really good insight, the employees at the networking events activly encouraged you to ask them questions about what they do on a daily basis.
It's like one big team and it is evident to see as everyone is friendly and happy to talk or socilise.
As it was an 'all business areas' insight we had to sit through the business presentation as well as the technology ones but it was still interesting to see all the different divisions within the bank and that technology would be interacting with.
Everything Else
Reimbursed Expenses
At least three a day with loads of different employees from all areas, spending around about two hours networking each day on average if not more. One downside was there was not to many TI tech guys to talk to but loads of GM&O
Lunches, dinner, drinks and Q&A presentations
yes, there was a presentation on it and also asking employees during the networking sessions
YES! It gives you such a good insigh into how banks operate for one plus the amazing culture a BAML
