The Role
The job was interesting and provided a good insight into how a global company works. I was also allowed to take on other projects, as well as my fundamental job.
Intel really involves you, and you feel part of the team and part of the world wide company contribution to business success.
Management, especially supervisor was very supportive and reguarly had meetings, both informal and formal, to keep track on my work progress and overal happiness
The work load was just right in my opinion. I wasn't pulling my hair out, but there was always work to be done and it can be done at your own pace without someone constantly checking upon you.
A lot. If i had of left my job role unexpectedly, it would have effected the company on a fairly large scale.
The experience gained from a placement is invaluable in my opinion. It helps you to develop as a person and mature. This combined with academic knowledge makes you very employeeable. I beleive it's best to experience the corporate shock whilst you are still a student, rather than as a graduate. Skills developed include time management, personal skills, project management.
The Company
Very happy. It was an open plan office and you are free to walk around and take regular breaks to talk to friends in office cubes near you.
Very well organised. I was given 6 weeks with the old student who gave me support in learning the new job role, which gave me a good head start.
You are allowed to take as many corporate training courses as you wish, usually down to your managers discretion though. I have been involved in a few.

I will definately apply for a Recent College Graduate role.
The Culture
There were over 100 other students working there. There was a good student community, including nights out and other social events on a regular basis.
Swindon is fairly priced compared to some metropolitan areas that you could work in. Bars and clubs are averagely priced.
The nightlife isn't the best, but it's who your with, not where you are that makes the nights good.
Plenty of activities to invovle yourself in. For instance, Intel takes part in the Corporate Games, where the compete with other companies in over 22 sports.
