About You
The insight week comprised a variety of activities and talks on different functions of the bank, which made the insight week very helpful and enjoyable.
We were put up in very comfortable apartments and reimbursed for travel costs. We were also taken to networking drinks on the first night and a very nice dinner on the last night, so were made to feel very valued.
We had the opportunity to talk to several business representatives from a range of divisions, who provided us with a lot of guidance; the HR team were very helpful and supportive.
There was a lot of help with assessment centre skills, such as a presentation skills session by a corporate speaker - the skills developed through this session, as well as skills and contacts gained from networking, will be very helpful for future applications and internships.
The Company
Well organised and divided so that we could learn about several divisions in the bank, not just the one we had applied to.
Business representatives, the HR team and peers were all friendly - from talking to the reps, it seems the culture and atmosphere at BAML is friendly.
They hired a corporate speaker to come and give us a talk on public speaking, and gave us tasks like stock pitches and case studies to help us practise presenting on the spot and working well in a team.
We were given an insight into the bank in a holistic way but also were told about the inner workings of specific mechanisms, as well as the culture.
A lot.
Very helpful, as, but asking to business reps, we gained an idea of what they do on a day-to-day basis, what their hours are like etc.
Everything Else
I was reimbursed expenses.
Most lunches were networking, also networking drinks on the first night and a dinner on the last night.
Plentiful and many reps to talk to.
Yes, we were told about volunteering opportunities and networks in the bank.
