The Role
My job at PwC for 12 months was one of the best things that I've ever done - I had the best year and thoroughly enjoyed every minute.
I was treated like an ordinary graduate from the beginning and never made to feel different because i was a placement.
we had a great support network - our peer group, a buddy and a people manager!
There was a lot of work to be done - i worked a considerable amount of unpaid overtime during my placement. this didn't seem like a particular hardship as i enjoyed my job, however trying to balance studying with overtime and a social life proved tricky
We were given the same amount of responsibility as graduates and that meant that we talked to clients directly and our work contributed directly to the comfort we had over accounts.
I have now completed 7 exams towards my ACA qualification and have accumulated a number of hours - this will be applicable when i continue my training., i have also learnt plenty of communication skills etc
The Company
The atmosphere was generally professional and everyone sat and got on with there work However, everyone was equally as friendly, and there ways someone to talk too! we had lots of socials and generally everyone got along!
THe placement was incredibly well organised as it followed the first year of the grad scheme
The firm paid for me to sit the first 7 of my ACA exams, therefore they were heavily investing in my future - they also ran several courses focusing in our personal development and communication which taught valuable life skills

The Culture
We had month end drinks and plenty of socials - love a free bar!
I lived in the same place as I did in university, therefore cheap!
Same as uni - except we went to nicer places!
I never bothered......
