The Role
I thoroughly enjoyed my time at Deloitte. I found that everyone I met was extremely friendly and welcoming, and the work I was given was challenging yet enjoyable.
I felt very valued by my colleagues. I was given work that was actually contributing to the various projects and therefore I felt more encouraged to work hard. We were welcomed with open arms and treated as if we were permanent members of staff.

To be honest this varied drastically depending on which project I was on. Some of the projects were unable to give me a lot of work as I had had no formal training, and therefore there were times when I was bored. At these times I was always able to find work to do, from other colleagues, provided I went looking for it. There was never a point where I felt I had been asked to do an unreasonable amount.
I was given more responsibility than I thought I was going to have. On one of the projects I was able to lead a brief meeting with a client which was a great experience. However, if I had not felt comfortable doing this I would have been able to say no. On other projects I was just given the smaller, more mundane tasks, which is more along the lines of what I had expected.
I don't feel that I developed many specific skills as I was moving from project to project quite a lot, but I do believe that my confidence has increased dramatically, as has my ability to network.
The Company
I was moving between the Deloitte office and other clients offices and I found that Deloitte was the quietest office, which as a workspace is ideal but gave off a slightly dull vibe.
Most of the internship was extremely well organised. The only issue I had was when the manager I was assigned was a Director - he had no time to talk me through anything (understandably) and so I didn't learn a lot from this placement.
I feel that Deloitte have invested a lot into me, but I would have liked a bit more training before I started my internship.

I have an interview with a partner as the next stage of the application process, which, if successful, will then lead to a graduate job. We were given feedback from all of our projects which will also be handed to the partner when they're making their decision which I believe will be very helpful.
The Culture
I loved the other people I interned with! There were 7 of us on my scheme and we got on very well. During the placement we socialised around 3-4 times a week and usually ate lunch together.
Very expensive - it was the City of London so one of the most expensive areas in the UK. However, as we were earning, we didn't think too much about prices at the time. Also, Deloitte were very generous with free food and drinks during the placement.
I was impressed by the amount that the professionals at Deloitte socialised after work and went out drinking.
There were quite a few, and all of the other interns got involved in the Deloitte football team.
