The Role
It was an interesting placement but the project I worked on wasnt the most exciting thing in the world
I saw my work go into a public release as well as being thanked many times for spotting mistakes ect
Any question I had was answered near enough instastly
The first week was slow going due to IT issues after that there was plenty to do but I didnt feel rushed off my feet
I wasn't working on anything critical and everything I did was reviewd before it was added to a release (as you would expect)
My python programming certainly improved a lot and I learned about some new things that will definitely help me in any future work
The Company
It was a pretty quite side room, the people who I sat with rarely talked outside of lunch but it was a pleasant overal atmosphere
There were quite a few IT issues at the start once all of those were resolved it was fine
Apart from a few programming skills and allowing me to present my work at the end not much
I hope they're good but I've had no indication as of yet
The Culture
It seemed that interns who started earlier where much better aquainted, us late starters were sort of left to it. Sitting in a small side room didnt help either.
I commuted from home so I have no idea. Train faire was £13.35 a day
Not a clue
There were a few walks/bike rides and an intern quiz night with free pizza and beer
