About You
The people I worked with made the internship really enjoyable as they were friendly and helpful. The work was slow at times but generally it was really good and there was a great atmosphere in the offices.
I was given more responsibility than I expected to get in terms of the work I was given to complete. The feedback I received made me feel particularly valued.
I was able to ask any question I needed to at almost any time but I was also left to learn things for myself which helped me to learn quickly which I enjoyed.
I study a very non-relevant degree but beyond that I hope the information and insight will be extremely useful.
The Company
The introductions were brief and I could have done with more time navigating around the computer systems. I was also sometimes left completely on my own with not much work to do so in terms of that it could have been structured more efficiently.
The atmosphere was fantastic and everyone was willing to help and give me work to get on with. I would recommend this insight to anyone interested in this type of career or business.
We were given some insider training but we could have done with more time to learn the computer systems and auditing software.
I was doing work expected of a first year graduate with the firm.
There was much talk about the company culture and the fact that it is the people that make it a good place to work which I felt showed through during my time there.
The insight really helped me in my career decision making and I would definitely consider a career in audit. It's difficult to know what auditors do unless you can see for yourself and actually do it.
Everything Else
I was paid for the three weeks and reimbursed when I had to travel to clients in Luton.
As I was mainly officed based I got to meet quite a few partners and other employees but other than that we were based with our managers.
There were a few drinks and meals during the three weeks which were paid for by the company and were a good opportunity to stay in touch with other SVS people as you tend not to see them otherwise, especially in audit.
There are some opportunities to get involved in sport and charity events in all departments.
I would undoubtedly recommend this insight to anyone interested in this kind of career or business.
