The Role
It was a great experience, working 6 weeks with a great team. The work was varied which made it interesting and I was working under different colleagues every week.
Colleagues tried to give me a variety of tasks and my work was often included in the final reporting which was rewarding to see. The staff had prepared a social for my arrival and I always felt part of the team.
Whenever I had any queries my buddy or champion we always on hand to assist if the member of staff I was with at the time did not have the answer.
I was reasonably busy but I could have asked for more work at times if I had wanted to. Working 9-5 most days with the odd exception.
I was left to arrange meetings, conduct testing and be involved in staff interviews. My work was based on templates which helped give it structure and consistency but the content was my own.
I have learnt great organisational skills and all types of other skills that are generally required in any workplace. I think it has developed me as a person and I know have a real understanding of what the working world is like and I am keen to be part of it with Deloitte.
The Company
Everyone was really helpful and if I was ever at a loose end then someone would be willing to give me some new pieces of work and effectively explain the job to me. People went to lunch together and there was a good amount chat during office hours.
I had a schedule for all 6 weeks of my placement which I stuck to. There was always work for me to do and even extra work if I requested it.
I spent a week training in addition to the initial regional induction. Staff were always happy to show me new tools and software and I even learnt a programming language (at a basic level).

I have a partner interview with them in the next few weeks and the backing of all the Bristol team.
The Culture
Yes, we organised drinks and met up. A lot of the time I went out with my team though which only had one other intern in it. The choice is yours.
Bristol is a reasonable place to live, I actually commuted to work on the train and ticket prices were a lot cheaper (four times as cheap) than if I was heading towards London.
Bristol has an incredible Nightlife. From massive clubs like Motion, to smaller venues playing all types of music from jazz to reggae to classic chart music.
There were plenty of socials. I am also aware there are sports teams that you can join but I wasn't really there long enough to get involved. Will definitely join a sports team if I get a graduate place with them next year.
