The Role
Given good opportunities to develop and learn. Also could see the work I was doing making progress and turning into a real working product.
Lots of morale events helped you to get to know your colleagues. There were just too many to get to know them all.
Somebody always there to help you when you got stuck. A good amount of training beforehand to help.
Always had work to do, but was given an opportunity to take breaks if I wanted. Taking a day or too off didn't make me feel behind.
People started coming to me for help. Was given the opportunity to run a training session for new employees.
Taught me skills in software which I will hopefully be using in future jobs.
The Company
Fun place to work and opportunities to go climbing, go-karting etc made it really enjoyable.
Not much communication before I arrived, but plenty of organisation after I started. There were some weeks where staff were unavailable due to prioritising other projects though, which sometimes slowed things down.
Given many opportunities for personal development with a library, and plenty of teaching to help us in early weeks. Many lunchtimes there were further opportunities to develop with talks organised on different aspects of software.
Subsidised Canteen
Company Parties/Events
A great place to work with friendly colleagues. Really enjoyed the work I was doing, too.
The Culture
Plenty of pub trips, cake etc.
Not cheap, but at least the company canteen had good value food.
I don't do nightlife...
Plenty of opportunities to have fun, go to the pub, etc.
