About You
It was a fantastic experience, would highly recommend it to anyone planning a career in financial services.
PwC made me feel very at home, they were friendly and kind. I had no issues raising any concerns or questions I had with any of the people I interacted with during my time.
PwC were very supportive they encouraged questioning and made sure you had all the available resources you needed. If anything was not quite suitable they always did their best to try and help.
The whole experience was very informative and I definitely learnt a lot. I have already used the skills I developed in my degree and having the experience has made it clearer to me the career path I want to take.
The Company
The insight was clearly structured, you were given a timetable that laid out exactly what you were expected to be doing and where the activity was being carried out. If you weren't sure there were plenty of people willing to help you out. You never felt like you had nothing to do.
Although it was busy and there were lots of activities to get through, I felt PwC did a fantastic job of making a fun and enjoyable environment. I made a lot of friends through the insight that I have stayed in contact since. So even though it was work you still had a good time doing it.
Due to the nature of the programme the company definitely invested a lot in it. You were put up in a hotel, travel was paid for and your meals while you were on the course were free. They also made a lot of people in the firm available to you in order for you to ask questions of them and get a better understanding of the firm.
PwC did a great job of giving you a realistic view of what it would be like to work with them at all different levels within the organisation. I have been to similar events which tend to dress up what it would be like to work for them, PwC instead gave a true view of the work involved.
You got a real feel from the insight on how it would be like to work for the company and the type of work environment they try to create.
One of the best things about the whole experience for me is that it gave me a clearer understanding of the career path I want to take. PwC gave you an overview of all the different jobs you can apply for and the roles and responsibilities involved.
Everything Else
I was reimbursed expenses (including travel and accommodation). Meals were also provided throughout the programme.
There were plenty of opportunities to network. The company put on events in the evening which gave you the opportunity to interact on a more social basis with employees in different roles and at all different levels. It also provided you the opportunity to get better know the other candidates on the programme.
Good fun! There was great food and company.
PwC made sure to let you know the full picture of life and work at the company therefore you heard lots about different opportunities outside of the day to day work you can get involved in.
Yes and I already have. I would recommend that anyone thinking of joining the company attend one of the events.
