    The Role

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • I throughly enjoyed myself at TfL. I made some great working relationships and really hope that i can rejoin after I graduate.

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued by your colleagues?
  • Once i was introduced to the teams i was working in, the people within the teams made me feel welcome and part of the team straight away.

  • 3. To what extent were you given support and guidance by management/your supervisor(s)?
  • If i ever had a problem i could go to my manager and disscuss and then we could resolve it.

  • 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?
  • The work load was perfect on a day-to-day basis. if i was every wanting work, i would go and ask my manager and they could give me some more.

  • I was given enough responsibility within my placements.

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • Having completed my year in industry placement with TfL I have gained on the job experience that has given me great ideas for writing my dissertation. Having worked with a lot of different people in TfL my confidence as grown. The training i recieved from both TfL and RICS has really helped me socially and professionally.

  • 7. What was the general atmosphere in your office?
  • The atomsphere in the office as friendy and a great worknig environment.

  • 8. How well organised was the overall work placement or internship set up?
  • The overall work placements and intership set up excellently. TfL graduate managers would find you a placement first for the introducing into the company and then it was up to your to find your next one. This was a great way to do it as it made you have to research your next placements.

  • 9. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • During my time at TfL the company invested a lot of time and money into sending me onto courses both internal and external so I got the best possible continuous development.

  • After i completed my years internship i really want to return to TfL and become a full graduate employee.

    The Culture

  • 12. Was there a good social scene amongst any fellow placement students/colleagues?
  • Having been introduced to the company with the full time graduate was perfect. This was a fantastic social networking oppurtunity and i have made some really great friends that i intend to stay in touch with.

  • 13. What was the cost of living and socialising in the area you worked in?
  • As this was London the living cost were high as where the social nights out.

  • Going out the the grads was fantastic. Londons night life is brilliant.

  • The graduate always organised something to do at the weekends.
