The Role
Hugely enjoyable time, meeting other interns, colleagues, well thought out initiatives and great work to boot!
Became part of the team quickly, and was involved in discussions in the team from the first day and my opinion and ideas seemed to be valued.
Was given good guidance for projects, and if needed extra clarification then they were open to providing this. However, was also left to work things out by myself and felt empowered to make smaller decisions with support.
The days were balanced - some were busy, some less so. It mostly depended on how well I managed my own time, and the projects I took on. Mostly left to organise own calendars and responsible for own time management.
Empowered to make small decisions and deliver on the project. The project had a real-world deliverable and time frame and I was left to deliver this.
The training at the beginning of the internship was brilliant, which helped with the concepts later on. Throughout the internship was learning constantly from colleagues and picking up on useful skills, tips and tricks. Skills were transferable to my degree and beyond.
The Company
A professional working environment, the working environment were good, and the team were always happy to have a break and a coffee and go over anything.
Was really well organised, from pre-internship activities, through the training, initiatives and internship.
The training opportunities and learning were second to none.
Subsidised Canteen
Subsidised/Company Gym
Company Parties/Events
Summer Internships used to feed into Graduate Schemes.
The Culture
Had formal events with interns. Also had some casual meetups with fellow interns and colleagues.
Relatively expensive (mainly due to being in London) - although not prohibitively so.
Financial District wasn't the place to look for nightlife.
A good variety of opportunities for interns to get involved with within the company outside of work.
