The Role
Loved my placement. Learnt a huge amount, had a big responsibly, felt like a vital part of the department, met some great people
Felt very valued. Felt as important as another member of the department
Very supportive and approachable. After a few months I was ready for more responsibility and more of a challenge. My manager and other department leaders were very susceptible to my requests for more of challenge. they gave me more responsibility and pushed me further.
For part of the year i was bored but requested more work. This was a challenge and there were days were I was too busy but mainly it was a perfect balance.
I was given as much responsibility as the other Regulatory Executives (full time staff). I was acceptable for any mistakes.
My placement did not directly relate to my degree. However, my time management and organisational skills, business understanding and regulatory knowledge have vastly improved and grown.
The Company
Very fun and relaxed.
I didn't see any issues. All seemed to run smoothly.
Individuals invested huge amounts of time in me. I didn't to any specific course ran by the company
Flexi Time
Sports and Social Club
Subsidised/Company Gym
Company Parties/Events
Subsidised Canteen
Financial Bonus
Staff Sales/Staff Shop
They offered me a role in the department which was uncommon for placement students
The Culture
IP unite was great and the social events were well organised
Very expensive living in London on a small salary - but worth it to live in London
Not in the direct area but 20 mins on the train to Clapham or 30mins to Piccadilly and Soho
We have a volunteering day once a year and some organised work events - but you live in London possibilities are endless if you want to get involved.
