About You
This was one of the best placements ive ever been on. Following on from the first couple of days getting set up, I was moved to a number of different clients which really gave me an idea of the range of possible work. It also kept things more interesting than sitting in the same office each day
Every person I worked with in the company was very friendly and easy to get along with. The work I was given was part of each job as opposed to made work. There were one or two times when there was no work available that I as a new intern could really help with and I found myself with no work despite asking. However this was infrequent and to be expected with a new intern
Excellent. Any time I was stuck, everyone I worked with was very helpful when I asked.
Accountancy skills may not be the most useful when finishing my engineering degree. However, the act of tracking through financial reports and bank statements to ensure there are no problems was a great thing to learn, no matter the career.
The Company
My time there was clearly sorted into different jobs at different clients from the beginning. There were some moments where I was told I wouldn't be needed at the last moment and something different was set up. However this wasn't much of an issue
Everyone I worked with was friendly and helpful. Social events were organised. The variety in job I was sent to meant it wasn't boring
It was made clear that the placement we were on increased our chances of a graduate job. Indeed the work I was taught to do was a useful part of the jobs we were on
I was with employees for a job throughout the working day so I could see what a working day was like. Though many were still working when I left for the day and mentioned other work they were doing that I hadn't seen.
By meeting different employees and asking, I was told about different paths a career in Accountancy might take
Everything Else
The switching of jobs I was on meant I met a large variety of employees at different levels
There were social events organised with all the fellow interns which gave the oportunity to network with those at my own level.
