About You
I had a lot of fun during my vacation scheme as well as learning a lot about the firm and the sort of work the lawyers do.
Everyone was very welcoming and friendly and gave me a variety of tasks to help with.
We had a trainee mentor as well as a supervisor in each seat, and also a partner mentor throughout the scheme, so there was a huge amount of support.
The sort of work I was doing was different to my degree work, but some of the research tasks in my litigation seat taught me some new concepts which will help with my studies next year.
The Company
We sat in two different groups and also had a variety of talks and social events which were spaced out well through the three weeks.
Everyone was very friendly and happy to help or answer any questions.
We had a training session at the beginning of the three weeks which helped throughout the scheme in using the computer system, and also had some sessions to improve our networking skills which were useful.
This vacation scheme is definitely the best way to get to know the firm.
I learnt how friendly everyone is at the firm.
It was a great way to learn about the different groups and areas of commercial law, by sitting in two different seats but also having the chance to hear talks from all the other departments as well.
Everything Else
I was paid £350 per week.
Several networking and social events were organised, and we were taken out for a number of lunches and coffees with a variety of lawyers.
These were excellent, especially the go-karting event which was very fun!
There are lots of opportunities available.
I really enjoyed the scheme and would definitely recommend it.
