The Role
The first week was difficult - I felt a little like I was thrown in the deep end because my team were away with the client. However after that I had a great time! Everyone was very friendly and the work was extremely interesting, I was never made to do anything pointless, and I felt as though I was really contributing.
Everyone was extremely friendly and supportive. My project Partner even asked for my opinion during a meeting which was unexpected but very nice to feel like a valued part of the team.
I cannot stress enough how friendly and supportive everyone was. I learnt so much not just about the job but also the industry.
It was hard to predict how much work I would have each day, which made it hard to plan evening activities. However I was never given work for the sake of it - if there was nothing left to do, I could go home early.
I was given a lot more responsibility than I thought I would be. It varied by project but I could see the work that I did on presentations and hand outs for the client.
I learnt so many skills during my relatively short time at Monitor Deloitte including Excel & Powerpoint short cuts, how to structure decks and data models, storyboarding and consulting methodologies.
The Company
The office is very quiet and intense because everyone is working so hard, but there were lots of social events outside of the office and these were very fun!
The internship itself was extremely well organised - the events and talks were all well planned out, but there was some delay in letting us known about offers/details etc.
We had on-the-job training and formal mid-point reviews so there was continuous feedback. There was also a wealth of very informative industry e-training we could do in our own time. We also had a session on basic PowerPoint and Excel skills, but no other real formal training.

I have received a job offer and am almost 90% sure I will accept!
The Culture
Some of the other interns were quite quiet but that was just our cohort. Everyone was very nice and we had a lot of fun and even met up after the internship.
Farringdon is quite expensive but there are cheaper options for lunch and drinks etc, The office also paid for everything on our events - I don't think I bought a single drink at an office event!
The nightlife is quite good - the office is opposite Kanaloa and quite close to Fabrric and Holborn.
There weren't really any opportunities on the internship but there would be if I were to join full-time. I know that some of the other interns played rugby and football with their teams.
