The Role
I literally felt like I had the best job in the world! Everyone was so friendly, I got the responsibility to own my own projects, I was trusted by my managers and there were great perks to the job! I really loved my time in Volkswagen Marketing.
I had a real job to do. I was responsible for areas of the Volkswagen website and for my own events. I was often the first point of call for many questions in the department.
My managers we really supportive and allowed me to take on any opportunity - including the chance to learn German.
I had the perfect balance of work. Some days there was more to do than others, but I was certainly never left twiddling my thumbs.
I had opportunities to manage my own projects and was very pro-active in seeking these. Often assuming responsibility for tasks and then being trusted to see them through.
I learnt more at Volkswagen than I did in my first two years at Uni. I even got the opportunity to do some work experience at one of the agencies the brand used - and I am now working for a group of Volkswagen retailers alongside my final year of Uni!
The Company
It was busy, and people were always working hard. But there were always lots of jokes and fun things to get involved with too! (This mainly consisted of eating cakes).
Communication was clear throughout and we received a plan of training courses right at the beginning of the placement.
We had access to a variety of training courses. Ones we attended we PowerPoint and Excel, Time Management, Presentation Skills and Interview Skills.

Very appealing!! I will certainly be keeping my eye on roles that crop up on the company website!
The Culture
Yes! Although Milton Keynes isn't the best night out, there were a lot of us so we had a lot of fun. I lived at home during my placement and I never felt out of the loop with what was going on. Definitely get involved and have a good time.
I lived at home rent free for the year which was great... the biggest cost was going out at the weekends, as drinks certainly are not cheap in Milton Keynes.
Not great - but it's what you make of it!
There are sports and social committees and the opportunity to do volunteer work also.
