The Role
I thoroughly enjoyed the placement, much better than any part time summer job I've had.
I felt like part of the team, attending meetings and working on a real project.
Whenever I had an issue, there was always someone in the office with the answer, or someone who knew someone that knew the answer.
Most days I was as busy as I wanted to be. I could have a short day one day, and then work extra other days if I wanted.
I was in charge of my own project, but didn't have much more responsibility than that.
Not so much in my studies, but hopefully it will be very helpful for my career.
The Company
There were demos of projects going on most weeks, and everyone was friendly and happy to explain their work.
Very well organised, and very flexible as well.
They taught me a lot, and I feel like a lot of time was spent helping me get started with my project.

I'm definitely applying for the graduate scheme, and I really hope I get offered a job!
The Culture
Theres a bar open every friday, and all of the students would meet for lunch everyday and the bar on fridays. There was also an after work BBQ for my office, and regular coffee/donut meetups.
Travelling to Roke can be expensive, as its remote, but there's a free shuttle to the station, and all the food is subsidized, and drinks vending machines are free.
The nearest village to Roke - Romsey - is tiny, and has nothing in the way of nightlife. Despite this, quite a few students live in the Southampton area, and so they went out on fridays.
There was lots going on, regular games in a rounders tournament, table tennis, snooker, a gym, rock climbing after work in Southampton and more.
