The Role
I really enjoyed working there. The work was challenging yet manageable and everyone was very friendly and approachable.
Everyone was very willing to help if it was ever necessary. Also, there were many other students working at the site which helped in terms of settling in socially.
Management was very helpful and made sure I was pointed in the right direction in my work and met weekly to keep track of my progress.
The workload was manageable and I had enough time to complete my work successfully without undue stress.
My placement involved leading a project right from the first week, so obviously I was given a fair amount of responsibility.
I developed skills in communication, leadership, project management and decision making which I imagine will be very helpful in the future.
The Company
Everyone was very friendly and quite outgoing, also the atmosphere and dress code were quite casual and very suffered from being excessively formal.
When I arrived I had an itinerary for my induction week set up and my project was presented to me with all the objectives, background and team members explained.
I had a mid placement and end of placement review where my competencies were assessed and constructive feedback was given so that I could improve how I went about my work during the course of the placement.

I would like to get a graduate job with Unilever and hopefully will be fast tracked to the assessment centre.
The Culture
There were about a dozen or so other students working at the site over the summer and we got along very well and would have lunch together and socialise regularly outside of work.
I would say Leeds is cheaper than London but more expensive than Manchester.
Leeds city centre has a lot of bars and restaurants and a few decent clubs.
The Emerald City group in the office organised a few social events, also in Leeds there's just generally a lot to do.
